We Make Getting a Swimming Pool Easy!

Step 1 - Layout and Excavation

Prior to excavation, we will take your approved design and lay it out in your yard. Any changes you’d like to make could be done at that time. Upon the layout approval, we are ready to begin Excavation.

Step 2 - Steel

3/8” steel at 8” on center is used as reinforcement on walls and floors of the pool & spa. ½” four bar box beam is continuous around pool & spa. On stress points and breaking points, the steel is doubled (4” on center).

Step 3 - Rough Plumbing and Grounding

Upon steel completion, plumbing is extended through walls of pool for return lines, main drains, etc. Skimmers and return jets are installed. Electrical grounding throughout the pool and/or spa is completed.

Step 4 - Gunite

Gunite is a cement mixture used to create the walls, steps, benches, etc. It is 6 to1 cement to sand ratio. The beam is at minimum 12” thick. Walls and floors are 6” + thick.

Step 5 - Plumbing & Equipment

After gunite, plumbing is continued from outside of shell to equipment pad. Equipment is set and gas line is run when necessary. Plumbing material is 2” schedule 40 PVC pipe & fittings and larger for spa suction.

Step 6 - Electrical

After plumbing, all electrical work is completed by a licensed master electrician.

Step 7 - Decking

The decking is the area around the pool and is the last phase before the final interior finish is applied. There are many options to choose from depending on budget. Some examples are: Colored spray deck, concrete pavers, and various styles of Flagstone Rock.

Step 8 - Plaster

The interior surface of the pool is plastered with a finished color and style of your choice. After the plaster has been completed, the pool will begin to fill with water. There are several color and style options to choose from such as; white, grey, colored quartz, or the Diamond Brite and Pebble Rock finishes.

Step 9 - Pool Startup

Once the pool is filled, Sun Pools will come to your home and turn on the equipment, balance the chemicals, clean the pool, and instruct the home owner on how to operate the pool equipment, and properly care for the pool.
